Its plan was confirmed on 22 January 2026 and took effect the next day, when Shenzhen PICEA Robotics, formerly Shenzhen 3irobotix and one of its contract manufacturers, acquired 100 per cent of the equity through its Hong Kong subsidiary Santrum Hong Kong. The old iRobot shares were cancelled, and the company that invented the Roomba is now wholly owned by a Chinese robotics firm.
