Disney acquires Pixar (2006)
Disney completed the acquisition of Pixar on 5 May 2006 for $7.4 billion.[1]
Disney acquired Pixar for about $7.4 billion in stock, making Steve Jobs its largest individual shareholder. Pixar's leadership was then put in charge of Disney's own animation studio, which had been in decline for a decade.
