LVMH acquires Marc Jacobs (1997)

LVMH completed the acquisition of Marc Jacobs in 1997.[1]

LVMH took a majority of the Marc Jacobs house and appointed its founder to design ready-to-wear for Louis Vuitton, a role he held for sixteen years. He had been dismissed from Perry Ellis five years earlier over a grunge collection now regarded as a landmark. Only the year is documented here.
