Tapestry completed the acquisition of Kate Spade New York on 11 July 2017 for $2.4 billion.[1]

Coach acquired Kate Spade for $18.50 per share, about $2.4 billion. Owning several brands rather than being one prompted the company to rename itself Tapestry the following October, a change its own shareholders received poorly.
