Tencent acquires Supercell and Clash of Clans (2016)
Tencent completed the acquisition of Supercell and Clash of Clans on 21 June 2016 for $8.6 billion.[1]
A consortium led by Tencent acquired a controlling stake in Supercell from SoftBank in a deal valuing the Helsinki studio at about $8.6 billion. Supercell makes Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars with unusually small teams and cancels games publicly when they do not meet its standards.
