About UltraTech Cement
UltraTech Cement is India's largest cement maker, formed when Larsen & Toubro demerged its cement division into UltraTech CemCo Ltd, which began trading on the BSE and NSE in August 2004. Grasim Industries, which had taken an initial 8.5% stake and then made an open offer for a further 30%, gained management control on 1 July 2004 and held 56.11% of UltraTech as of its FY2024-25 annual report. The brand covers grey cement, ready-mix concrete and building products sold across India and, through subsidiaries, in the UAE, Bahrain, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
