Conaprole is Uruguay's national dairy co-operative, created by Law 9,526 of 14 December 1935 and in operation from 1 June 1936. It takes the milk of 1,362 dairy farms, 73 per cent of the country's supply, and more than 80 per cent of what it receives is exported, to over 70 destinations led by Algeria and Brazil. In the year to July 2025 its revenue passed one billion dollars again, and Uruguay's state bank named it the country's largest exporter. At home it sells more than 300 products, from milk and cheese to ice cream and frozen food.
