Dao-Heuang Group was established in 1991 by Mrs Leuang Litdang as a small import-export business in southern Laos and has grown into one of the country's largest companies, with operations spanning coffee growing and processing, tea, a manufacturing factory, agricultural and industrial trading, and duty-free retail. Its duty-free arm is the largest importer and retailer of duty-free goods in Lao PDR, and in 2010 the group partnered with Heinemann Asia Pacific and UG Indochina to open the Haven duty-free centre. Management has been passing to the founder's second generation, led by her eldest daughter.
