I.D.C. Holding is the largest maker of confectionery and long-life biscuits in Slovakia, employing more than 1,100 people across three plants at Sereď, Trnava and Cífer. It traces itself to 1992, when I.D.C., s.r.o. was founded in Prague and privatised the Pečivárne Sereď biscuit works, adding the Figaro Trnava state enterprise in 1993. Turnover runs above 116 million euros a year; the company says its products account for around 60 per cent of the Slovak wafer market and about 8 per cent of the biscuit market, and that it also leads the Czech wafer market. Rather less than half of what it makes is sold at home, with the rest going mainly to the other Visegrád countries through its subsidiaries in Prague, Poland and Hungary.
