Ledesma is an Argentine agro-industrial company built around a sugar mill in Jujuy province. Compañía Azucarera Ledesma was formed on 7 May 1908, and a single family has controlled it since 1911; the Blaquier family holds about 90 per cent of its shares, which are listed in Buenos Aires. It makes sugar and alcohol, including bioethanol, and since 1965 has made paper from sugar cane fibre, sold as reams and school notebooks. It is also Argentina's main exporter of oranges and grapefruit. Its mass-market Dominó sugar is owned 50/50 with Seaboard.
