RG Brands is the leading beverage producer in Kazakhstan and has been on the Central Asian market for thirty years. It began in 1994 as a distributor of imported consumer goods carrying well-known international marks, and built a wide distribution network before it built factories — the reverse of the usual order, and the reason its own brands could be launched into shops it already served. Own brands started in 1998 with the juices DaDa and Solnechny; a tea factory followed in 2000, a milk plant in Kostanay in northern Kazakhstan in 2004, and in 2009 the Aksengir production and logistics complex in Almaty region, which the company calls the largest in Central Asia and which bottles more than a hundred million litres of drinks a year. It now runs twenty-four enterprises across Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, opening an Uzbek business unit in Tashkent in 2021, and it exited the snack business in 2024 to concentrate on hot and cold drinks.
