Berkshire Hathaway acquires Fruit of the Loom (2002)

Berkshire Hathaway completed the acquisition of Fruit of the Loom on 30 April 2002 for $835 million.[1]

Berkshire Hathaway acquired Fruit of the Loom out of bankruptcy for about $835 million in cash. The underwear maker had collapsed under debt, and Berkshire bought the operating business rather than the holding company that had failed.
