Capri Holdings acquires Versace (2018)
Capri Holdings completed the acquisition of Versace on 31 December 2018 for $2.1 billion.[1]
Michael Kors acquired Versace for about $2.1 billion and renamed itself Capri Holdings, following the same logic that had turned Coach into Tapestry a year earlier. Donatella Versace stayed as creative director and the family took shares in the buyer.
