Comcast completed the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation on 22 August 2016 for $3.8 billion.[1]

Comcast acquired DreamWorks Animation for about $3.8 billion, adding Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon to Universal. The studio had struggled as a standalone public company because a single failed film could ruin a year.
