Disney acquires Lucasfilm (2012)
Disney completed the acquisition of Lucasfilm on 21 December 2012 for $4.05 billion.[1]
Disney acquired Lucasfilm from George Lucas for about $4.05 billion in cash and stock, taking ownership of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Lucas has said he directed much of the proceeds to educational philanthropy.
