Alphabet acquires Google Nest (2014)

Alphabet completed the acquisition of Google Nest on 12 February 2014 for $3.2 billion.[1]

Google acquired Nest Labs for $3.2 billion in cash, buying a thermostat company founded by two former Apple engineers. The price startled the industry and marked Google's entry into hardware inside the home.
