LVMH acquires Celine (1996)

LVMH completed the acquisition of Celine on 1 July 1996.[1]

LVMH acquired Celine, which had begun in 1945 as a made-to-measure children's shoe shop in Paris before becoming a womenswear house. Successive creative directors have redefined it so completely that its identity is closely tied to whoever is designing. The price was not disclosed.
