LVMH completed the acquisition of Ruinart in 1988.[1]
LVMH acquired Ruinart, the oldest established champagne house, founded in 1729 by the nephew of a monk who had recognised the commercial possibility of sparkling wine. Its chalk cellars in Reims are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Only the year is documented here.
