LVMH acquires Zenith (1999)
LVMH completed the acquisition of Zenith on 1 November 1999.[1]
LVMH acquired Zenith, whose El Primero automatic chronograph from 1969 survived only because a watchmaker hid the tooling in an attic when the owners ordered it destroyed during the quartz crisis. The movement is still in production. The price was not disclosed.
