Picea acquires iRobot (2026)
Picea completed the acquisition of iRobot on 23 January 2026.[1]
iRobot filed for Chapter 11 on 14 December 2025, less than two years after Amazon abandoned its takeover. Its plan was confirmed on 22 January 2026 and took effect the next day, when Shenzhen PICEA Robotics, formerly Shenzhen 3irobotix and one of its contract manufacturers, acquired 100 per cent of the equity through its Hong Kong subsidiary Santrum Hong Kong. The old iRobot shares were cancelled, and the company that invented the Roomba is now wholly owned by a Chinese robotics firm.
