Sherwin-Williams acquires Valspar (2017)

Sherwin-Williams completed the acquisition of Valspar on 1 June 2017 for $11.3 billion.[1]

Sherwin-Williams acquired Valspar for about $11.3 billion, requiring divestitures to satisfy competition regulators. Valspar traces to a Boston paint business founded in 1806 and was the paint sold through Lowe's, a rival retailer to the buyer's own stores.
