J.M. Smucker completed the merger with Jif on 18 June 2002 for $840 million.[1]
Smucker acquired Jif and Crisco from Procter & Gamble in a spin-off and merger valued at about $840 million. A company known for jam became the largest peanut butter seller in America, so the two halves of a sandwich came under one owner.
