TITAN acquires Roanoke Cement and Titan Florida (2000)

TITAN completed the acquisition of Roanoke Cement and Titan Florida in 2000.^[1][2]

This single 2000 transaction is the origin of TITAN's US business. TITAN had held a 59-60% controlling stake in Roanoke Cement, Virginia since 1992, bought from Tarmac PLC; in 2000 it acquired Tarmac America Inc. outright, which brought in the remaining roughly 41% of Roanoke Cement together with the Pennsuco plant near Miami, Florida (the origin of today's Titan Florida brand) plus associated quarries, ready-mix concrete and block operations and distribution terminals. Tarmac America was then renamed Titan America and fully folded into the group - the same corporate line that, after a 2025 NYSE IPO, is now the 87%-TITAN-owned Titan America SA. Because Roanoke Cement and the Pennsuco/Titan Florida assets both came from this one purchase of Tarmac America, they are recorded as a single deal rather than two; TITAN's own SEC filings and history page give the year but neither a specific date nor a price, so those are left unrecorded rather than estimated (a $636 million figure reported at the time comes only from contemporary news coverage, not from TITAN or Tarmac PLC directly, and is not used here).
