About Al Borg
Al Borg is an Egyptian chain of medical laboratories, founded in 1990 by four doctors and, according to IDH, the first laboratory in Egypt run on a hub, spoke and spike model. Its purchase by Abraaj in 2008 was the first step in creating IDH, which raised its stake to 99.3% in 2012. IDH's central Mega Lab in Cairo, which replaced two older hub laboratories, began operating in 2015, and Al Borg and Al Mokhtabar are both certified to ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001.
