About Bioscientia
Bioscientia is a German medical laboratory group based in Ingelheim, founded in March 1970 by the drug maker Boehringer Ingelheim, at first as a joint venture with the US company Bioscience Labs. Its medical director Bernd Heicke took it over in a management buyout in 1995, and Sonic Healthcare bought it in 2007. In 2019 Sonic combined it with its Labdiagnostik group under Bioscientia Healthcare, with about 3,000 staff at 25 sites.
