About Medica
Medica is one of the largest medical laboratories in Switzerland, based in central Zürich, offering routine and specialist testing, emergency diagnostics, pathology and medical genetics. It began as a laboratory founded by Dr E. Lambelet in Zürich-Höngg, which Franz Käppeli took over in 1976 with ten staff and ran until 2022; it now has more than 400. Sonic Healthcare bought it in 2007, and it is part of Sonic's Swiss network with Medisupport, Medisyn and Dr Risch.
