Corporación Favorita (BVQ: SLU) is a publicly listed company headquartered in Quito, Ecuador that owns 16 consumer brands.^[1]

Corporación Favorita is Ecuador's largest retailer, and it runs a different store for almost every kind of shopping rather than one banner that does everything. It began in 1952 as Bodega La Favorita, a small shop selling staples in central Quito, opened the country's first self-service store as Supermercados La Favorita in 1957, and in 1976 became the first company in Ecuadorian supermarket retailing to open its capital to the public; it now has around 19,700 shareholders. Beyond supermarkets it runs bookshops, hardware stores, toy shops, pharmacies, homeware and technology chains, together with industrial operations in bakery, meat, stationery, catering, renewable energy and waste, a telecoms and e-commerce services arm, and sixteen shopping centres. It trades in Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Costa Rica and Peru, and holds more than 99 per cent of Grupo Rey, the Panamanian supermarket, convenience store and pharmacy group it bought into in 2019.
