Honda (NYSE: HMC) is a publicly listed company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan that owns 2 consumer brands.[1][2]

Honda was incorporated in Tokyo on 24 September 1948 as Honda Giken Kogyo, successor to the unincorporated enterprise Soichiro Honda had established in 1946 to make motors for motorised bicycles. It reports in four segments — motorcycles, automobiles, financial services, and power products and other businesses — and in the year to 31 March 2026 took ¥21.8 trillion of revenue, 64 per cent of it from cars and 18 per cent from motorcycles. It is far larger in two wheels than in four by volume: 22.1 million motorcycles against 3.4 million automobiles on a group basis, with about 85 per cent of the motorcycles sold in Asia. Its other businesses include the HondaJet, delivered since December 2015.
