Orion is a South Korean confectionery company founded in 1956 as Dongyang Confectionery. It launched Choco Pie in 1974, first listed shares in 1975 and took the name Orion Corporation in 2003. Beginning with China in the 1990s and later Russia, Vietnam and India, it now runs 15 production plants in those four countries. Its largest shareholder is Orion Holdings, which held 37.37 per cent at the end of 2025. Orion has also expanded into beverages, meal replacements and biotechnology, acquiring LigaChem Biosciences in 2024, and reported consolidated 2024 sales of about 2.2 billion US dollars.
