eBay acquires Depop (2026)
eBay completed the acquisition of Depop on 30 July 2026 for $1.2 billion, buying from Etsy.[1][2]
Etsy sold Depop, the secondhand fashion marketplace it had owned since July 2021, to eBay. The purchase price was $1.2 billion; with $200 million of net purchase price adjustments and interest, Etsy received approximately $1.4 billion in cash when the sale completed on 30 July 2026. The deal moved the most youth-focused resale app in Britain and the United States to the company that built online secondhand trading in the first place.
