Rémy Cointreau acquires Bruichladdich and The Botanist (2012)
Rémy Cointreau completed the acquisition of Bruichladdich and The Botanist on 3 September 2012.[1]
Remy Cointreau bought the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay, its first move into single malt Scotch and the start of a run of whisky acquisitions that continued with Domaine des Hautes Glaces and Westland in 2017. The Botanist gin came with it: the distillery makes it on the same site, in a repurposed Lomond still. Remy Cointreau has not published the price.
