About Argos
Argos is Cementos Argos' single cement, concrete and aggregates trademark, assigned by the company across its three current operating segments — Colombia, the Caribbean and Central America — according to the 2025 Integrated Report's intangible-assets note. Cementos Argos S.A. itself bought the Argos brand from its parent, Grupo Argos S.A., for a cash payment of COP 115,389 million in December 2005, and the report records it as an indefinite-lived intangible asset that showed no impairment in 2025. The same Argos name was used by the company's former US subsidiary, Argos USA LLC, under a licence that continued for a year after Cementos Argos sold its 31% Summit Materials stake in February 2025 and expired in February 2026, so the brand today no longer covers any US business.
