Turkish Airlines began on 20 May 1933 as the State Airlines Administration, a government department flying five aircraft, and is now the mainline brand of a group that carried 92.6 million passengers to 356 destinations in 132 countries in 2025 with 516 aircraft of an average age of 9.9 years.
