About UGC
UGC is one of the largest cinema chains in France and also holds a film library and its own intellectual property. Canal+ signed an agreement on 15 October 2025 to take a 34 per cent minority stake in it, with put and call arrangements from 2028 that could hand the group control later. The group presents the investment as a long-term commitment to cinema rather than a step towards immediate consolidation.
