Kinepolis Group was formed in 1997 by the merger of two family-run Belgian cinema groups and listed a year later. It now operates 122 cinemas with 1,314 screens and more than 220,000 seats, 63 of them in Europe and the rest in Canada and the United States, and turned over €564.9 million in 2025. Cinemas are only part of it: the group also does film distribution, event organisation, screen advertising and property management, and of the €43.9 million it invested in 2025, €22.9 million went on maintaining the cinemas it has and €19.8 million on internal expansion.
