MJR was the privately held Michigan chain that took Kinepolis into the United States. Every one of its cinemas is a multiplex or megaplex, from 10 to 20 screens, and nearly all have recliner seats; two carry an EPIC auditorium combining 4K projection with Dolby Atmos. Kinepolis completed the purchase on 14 October 2019 at an enterprise value of USD 152.25 million and kept the existing name, as it had in Canada.
