BRALIRWA is Rwanda's largest brewer and soft drinks maker, founded in 1957 and inaugurated in 1959 by King Mutara III Rudahigwa. Heineken N.V. took a 75 per cent majority stake in 1971 and still holds it, through Heineken International B.V. and Beleggingsmaatschappij Limba B.V.; the other quarter is publicly held, and BRALIRWA was the first company listed on the Rwanda Stock Exchange, on 31 January 2011. It brews at Gisenyi and bottles soft drinks at Kigali, and has produced Coca-Cola products under licence since 1974. Revenue reached Rwf 263 billion in 2025 on 417 employees.
