It has been wholly owned by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance since the bureau was transferred to the central government on 1 July 1999. TTL still runs the beer and spirits business it inherited from the monopoly era through a dedicated Beer Division operating four breweries — in Taipei, Zhunan, Wuri and Shanhua — and an Alcoholic Beverages Division running nine distilleries, alongside tobacco, biotechnology and VINATA-branded cosmetics operations outside this dataset's scope.
