Booking Holdings acquires Booking.com (2005)

Booking Holdings completed the acquisition of Booking.com on 1 September 2005 for $133 million.[1]

Priceline acquired Bookings B.V., the Dutch operator of Booking.com, for about $133 million. The business grew so far beyond its American parent that the group renamed itself Booking Holdings in 2018, so the acquired company ended up naming the acquirer.
