Spin-off closed
Burger King (Malta) and 2 other brands separation from Farsons (2025)
Burger King (Malta) and 2 other brands were separated from Farsons as Quinco on 6 October 2025.[1][2]
Simonds Farsons Cisk separated its food business from its brewery. Shareholders approved the spin-off at the annual general meeting in June 2025; Quinco Holdings p.l.c., incorporated on 8 May 2025, acquired Food Chain Limited and Quintano Foods Limited from Farsons on 10 September 2025; the Malta Financial Services Authority approved the prospectus on 24 September; and the 36 million shares were distributed to Farsons shareholders as an interim dividend in kind before being admitted to the Malta Stock Exchange on 6 October 2025, with trading opening the next day. The Maltese Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut franchises moved with the food business; Farsons kept the beer, the soft drinks and the water.
Two dates matter and they are different. The brand edges are dated 10 September 2025, when Quinco acquired the operating companies and began consolidating them; the deal is closed on 6 October 2025, the admission that completed the separation.
