Farsons is Malta's brewer and soft drinks bottler, and traces its origins to 1928, when L. Farrugia & Sons built a brewery in Hamrun and launched Farsons Pale Ale on 19 April. It merged with the British brewer H & G Simonds a year later and with the Malta Export Brewery, makers of Cisk, in 1948, which gave the company the three-part name it still carries. It was the first private-sector company to list on the Malta Stock Exchange, in 1995. In the year to 31 January 2026 it spun off its food business — Quintano Foods and the Maltese Pizza Hut, Burger King and KFC franchises — as Quinco Holdings p.l.c., distributed to its own shareholders as a dividend in kind and separately listed in October 2025, which the company describes as returning it to its original roots as a brewer, bottler and importer of beverages. Turnover from continuing operations was €106.5 million.
