Air Europa is a Spanish airline of the Globalia tourism group and a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Its own history page says the company was formed under the name Air Europa in 1986, with a first flight between Tenerife and London, and was bought in 1991 by Spanish investors headed by Juan José Hidalgo. It began regular domestic flights in 1993, joined SkyTeam in 2007 and flies Boeing 787 and 737 aircraft from a Madrid hub.
