About Amana (heating and air conditioning)

Amana-brand central air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces are made by Daikin's North American business, and the Amana site says they are "manufactured under license by Daikin". The licence goes back to 2001, when Goodman sold the Amana appliance business to Maytag and took a trademark licence to keep using the name on heating and cooling equipment. Goodman's 2007 10-K said that licence ran to July 2011 with renewals available for another 15 years.
