About Goodman
Goodman makes central air conditioners, heat pumps and gas furnaces for North American homes and sells them through independent heating and cooling contractors. Harold Goodman founded the business in 1975 to make flexible duct, and it began making air-conditioning equipment in 1982. Daikin bought all of Goodman Global for a total value of $3.7 billion, including debt, completing the deal on 1 November 2012. Daikin calls it its full-fledged entry into the North American residential unitary market, after it had pulled out of the US in 1981 and 1998.
