About Lennox

Lennox began in 1895 in Marshalltown, Iowa, when Dave Lennox, who ran a railroad machine repair shop, patented a riveted steel coal-fired furnace that outlasted cast-iron designs. Investors led by D.W. Norris bought the furnace business in 1904 and named it the Lennox Furnace Company. Lennox furnaces, heat pumps and air conditioners are sold directly to independent installing dealers rather than through wholesalers, and contractors buy parts at Lennox Stores across the US and Canada.
