C&W is the brand of Cable & Wireless Communications, the incumbent fixed-line telephone operator in most of its residential markets across the Caribbean and Panama. It also runs mobile networks, broadband, pay television and a subsea and terrestrial fibre network that sells wholesale capacity. Liberty Latin America bought the group on 16 May 2016, and C&W owns only part of several local subsidiaries, such as 49 per cent of those in The Bahamas and Panama.
