Sid Meier's Civilization has run since 1991 and is the definitive turn-based strategy series, known for the compulsion of taking one more turn. Take-Two acquired the rights along with the studio Firaxis in 2005. Firaxis was founded by Sid Meier himself after leaving the studio where the first game was made, which is why the designer's name remains in the title.
