About Hansel

Hansel is one of Rebisco's best-known biscuit brands, sold both as a plain round biscuit and as a sandwich with a mocha-flavoured filling. It is among the eighteen brands the company lists on its own brands page, and one of the handful it puts forward as products cherished by generations of Filipinos over more than six decades.

About the owner: Rebisco

Rebisco is a privately held company headquartered in Pasig City, Philippines, founded in 1963. Brandtree records 16 brands under its control.

Republic Biscuit Corporation, known to everyone as Rebisco, began in 1963 as the England Biscuit Factory, a neighbourhood bakeshop in old San Juan in Metro Manila, and took its present name in 1972. Its first two products were Crema, which it describes as the first cream sandwich biscuit made in the Philippines, and a plain cracker called Sodatine. It outgrew San Juan and moved to a larger plant in Novaliches, Quezon City, and now runs its head office from the Joy Nostalg Center in Ortigas, Pasig City, with a second office at the Novaliches site. Over six decades it has spread well beyond biscuits into cakes, wafers, doughnuts, bread, nuts, chips and confectionery, through subsidiaries it lists as APC, APC Food Solutions, Creamline, MFC, Omnipack, PAD, SPI and Suncrest, and it exports through an international business group whose recent work includes a manufacturing joint venture in Myanmar.
