About Husqvarna

Husqvarna is the core brand of the Husqvarna Forest & Garden division, which brings in about 60 per cent of Husqvarna Group's net sales. It covers chainsaws, trimmers, leaf blowers, ride-on mowers and robotic lawn mowers, sold to forestry and landscaping professionals and to homeowners through more than 25,000 independent dealers. The group introduced the first robotic mower, a solar-powered one, in 1995, and says more than four million have been installed since. The same name is used by the group's construction division for power cutters, floor grinders and diamond tools.

About the owner: Husqvarna Group

Husqvarna Group is a publicly listed company headquartered in Jönköping, Sweden, founded in 1689. Brandtree records 4 brands under its control, and it is listed as STO: HUSQ B and STO: HUSQ A.

Husqvarna Group makes outdoor power products, watering systems and light construction equipment, and traces itself to a rifle factory set up in 1689 at the waterfall in Huskvarna in southern Sweden. It has since made sewing machines, bicycles and motorcycles, all now divested, and began making chainsaws in 1959. Electrolux bought the company in 1978 and it became independent again with a Stockholm listing in 2006. It reports three divisions, Husqvarna Forest & Garden, Gardena and Husqvarna Construction, and says it operates mainly under the Husqvarna and Gardena brands. The Husqvarna name on motorcycles, bicycles and sewing machines is licensed out to other companies.
