About Kavalan
Kavalan is King Car's single malt whisky, distilled at the King Car Kavalan Whisky Distillery in Yilan County, which the company's own history page describes as founded in 2005 as Taiwan's first whisky distillery. The distillery draws on the pure water and warm, humid subtropical climate of Yilan, which accelerates cask maturation, and has gone on to collect international recognition the company lists on its own site, including being named a top distillery by Whisky Magazine in 2012, "Distillery of the Year" in 2017, and the IWSC's "Worldwide Whiskey Producer Trophy" in 2021.
